Luke Hyde hikes the Bitoujiao Trail on Taiwan's far northeast coast, about two hours outside Taipei. Starting at the park entrance, he soon pauses to admire a school with an ocean view, noting it would be too distracting for students. The trail provides phenomenal vistas of mountains meeting the sea, with well-built staircases that impress him. At a rest stop, he makes local friends who greet his camera warmly. Descending into Bitoujiao Park, he meets a man renting snorkeling gear and shows off photos of underwater Nemo fish. The shopkeeper insists on giving Luke a free drink, refusing payment. Luke ends his day heading back to Taipei by bus, grateful for the kindness of strangers and encouraging viewers to visit and snorkel there.
