Travel Guides & Tips in this video

Blackman Da Traveller arrives in Shenzhen on his first trip to China, expecting a new adventure but encountering several logistical problems. A passport-photo mismatch makes immigration stressful, and later a wrong address from a ride-hailing app sends him away from his hostel. He buys a SIM card at 7-Eleven and asks people for help despite the language barrier. Several locals assist him until he reaches the hostel, where check-in also takes persistence. His account includes good airline food, a busy airport and the kindness of strangers.

Arrival in Shenzhen

Blackman Da Traveller’s first visit to China begins with a flight on Hanan Airlines. He is pleasantly surprised by the food service on board. After landing in Shenzhen, however, he faces a stressful immigration process because the photograph in his passport does not match the officials’ expectations. The difficulty takes time and leaves him unsure about what will happen next, but he eventually continues into the city.

At the airport, he gets a SIM card at a 7-Eleven, a convenient way to connect without going to a phone shop. He then tries to reach his hostel. The ride-hailing app gives him the wrong address, so he ends up wandering around and asking for help. This becomes the biggest challenge of the day, especially because he is still learning how to communicate in a new place.

Help finding the hostel

Several local people help Blackman Da Traveller work out where to go. He finds their willingness to assist striking, even with a language barrier between them. A translation app can be useful when asking for directions, but he also finds that people are willing to respond to simple requests. The address problem turns into a series of small interactions that eventually get him to the right place.

Once at the hostel, check-in is not immediate. The hostel has no reception, so he waits and persists until someone helps him. The experience adds another delay to a day already affected by immigration and a wrong address. He describes the process with a mixture of frustration and gratitude, as the assistance from strangers contrasts with the difficulty of the logistics.

First impressions and practical lessons

The vlog shows Shenzhen through the traveler’s first impressions: a large airport, busy streets, and the sequence of steps involved in getting connected and finding a place to stay. The food on the flight makes a positive impression, while he has not yet tried much local food by the time he reflects on the arrival. He is looking forward to exploring the cuisine later.

For travelers, his experience suggests using a ride-hailing app carefully and checking the destination address, while keeping enough time for immigration and accommodation. A SIM card can be bought at a 7-Eleven, and locals may be willing to help if directions are confusing. Patience matters when a hostel has no reception. Blackman Da Traveller’s first day mixes practical hurdles with kindness from people he meets, leaving him eager to continue exploring China.
