A first Haidilao meal in Beijing

TriFate Lifestyle arrives in Beijing planning to visit historical sites, but a passport mishap changes the day’s plan. They go to Haidilao for their first hot pot meal instead. The menu offers many meats, vegetables and broth choices, from mild to very spicy, and the pair work out how to order and cook the food. They try specialty noodles and experiment with the sauces, making combinations from the ingredients available. Staff help them despite the language barrier, and the service includes peeling an egg for them. Robot servers and the restaurant’s modern setup also stand out during the visit.

The group’s attempts to manage chopsticks add to the meal’s humor. Haidilao is accommodating when a guest needs a fork, and the staff and tools help make the meal manageable for first-timers. Half portions make it possible to sample several dishes without ordering full servings. The broths range from mild to very spicy, and the sauces let them try different flavor combinations. When chopsticks prove difficult, they can ask for a fork; staff also peel an egg for them. These details help make the hot pot manageable for newcomers. Their reactions move from confusion about the menu and cooking process to enjoying the meal and the staff’s attention. They appreciate the helpful service despite the language barrier, and the robot servers are another memorable part of the restaurant. The pair describe the experience as both fun and delicious, with the staff making the first hot pot meal easier to navigate.

Beyond the restaurant

The vlog also shows modern architecture and busy streets in Beijing, including a later look at the city’s business district. The brief city scenes contrast with their restaurant visit and the historical sightseeing they had planned before the passport mishap. The contrast between the high-tech restaurant and the older parts of the city they hoped to visit frames their day, though the hot pot becomes the main experience. TriFate Lifestyle describe the meal as fun and delicious, highlighting the range of broths, the sauces, the specialty noodles, the robot servers and the help they received. Their visit offers a personal account of trying hot pot for the first time in Beijing.
