Getting around Dali

Sun Kissed Bucket List begins in Dali and rents electric bikes to explore the ancient town and the route toward Erhai Lake. Their narrow, winding streets make navigation confusing, and the couple gets lost before reaching the lake. They interact with locals, including a helpful security guard and a patient coffee shop owner. The travelers describe Dali's old town as well preserved and note its slower pace. They mention Xianli Inn as a convenient place to stay, about a five-minute walk from the main entrance. They also discuss electric bikes, noting that local rules may allow some lower-powered bikes without a helmet or license.

Food and Erhai Lake

The ride includes stops for Mixue jasmine milk tea and fresh fruit varieties from Yunnan. Along the way they notice large 5G towers disguised as trees and maneuver through tight streets where cars can have difficulty passing. At Erhai Lake, they take in the scenery and learn that it is the second-largest freshwater lake in Yunnan and important to local fishing communities. Rental bikes can be found by the roadside and accessed by scanning a code. The couple later rests at a lakeside coffee spot and tries green tea and grapefruit beers. Their trip combines old-town exploration with a ride into the countryside and gives them several unexpected turns before they reach the lake.
