Today I am going to Guangzhou China from Shenzhen with a long distance train. My journey started from Luohu District and I headed to Shenzhen Luohu Railway Station to catch my train.

Train from Shenzhen to Guangzhou takes just over an hour, I noticed there were few trains that went a bit quicker exactly in 60-minutes, unfortunately I missed this one just by 10 minutes..

On arrival in Guangzhou East station I got on a taxi to head to my hotel/apartment. Driver dropped me off nearby to the address where the my place suppose to be, but the I realized that something is not right...

That building is not there, so I did some research to find out that building is 2km from where I was..sadly their address on Agoda app was wrong and yeah it made my arrival quite stressful and I had to get on another taxi and spend more money...

Had a quick snack in 7/11 and then headed on my way, couldn't find any empty taxies on that road so I decided to walk a little. After 10-15 minute walk I managed to get on taxi.

This time I ended up at the right spot! Great success!

Check in my room and everything was good, they even got a washing machine..I sure have to wash some clothes, so it's handy.

I was hungry so I was going out to find some local restaurant and found one very quickly. I ordered some noodle dish and some dumplings as I was quite hungry, Never did I realize that I will get this huge amount of food...

Haha, oopsie I guess :D..

Travel Guides & Tips in this video

Kevin Travel leaves Shenzhen Luohu for Guangzhou East by first-class train. He buys his ticket at the counter, follows signs to the long-distance entrance and passes a passport check, then watches farmland, water and lychee and longan trees from the train. At Guangzhou East, he waits in a taxi queue and discovers the Agoda address is about two kilometers from his accommodation, requiring a second ride and an extra fare. His room has a washing machine and city view. He eats hand-pulled noodles and dumplings, notes a fly on the beef noodles despite enjoying the flavors, and walks through commercial and residential streets before viewing the moon and city lights from a bridge.

Buying a train ticket in Shenzhen

Kevin Travel leaves Shenzhen for Guangzhou after feeling ready for a change of scenery. Near a mall, he finds a street taxi without much difficulty and heads to Shenzhen Luohu Railway Station. Because he is unsure about using a ticketing app across a language barrier, he chooses to buy his ticket at the counter. At the station he follows other passengers and the signs for the long-distance train entrance. Security staff check his passport rather than scanning a ticket, which surprises him and makes him wonder whether the ticket is linked to his passport. He boards a first-class train for Guangzhou East.

The ride is comfortable and smooth. Kevin watches farmland and bodies of water pass by, and spots lychee and longan trees. He notes that the train has no charging ports, an inconvenience he did not expect on modern transport. After arriving at Guangzhou East, he faces a long taxi queue before setting off for his accommodation.

An address mix-up and an evening in Guangzhou

The address displayed by Agoda takes Kevin to a point about two kilometers from the actual accommodation. He has to pay for another taxi, and the mistake leaves him stressed after the journey. Once he reaches the correct place, he finds a washing machine in the room and enjoys its city view. Hungry, he goes out for hand-pulled noodles and dumplings. The portions are much larger than expected. He enjoys the flavors, but a fly on the beef noodles raises a hygiene concern; the dumplings have a simple, meaty filling.

After eating, Kevin takes a walk to settle his stomach. He notices a contrast between commercial streets and quieter residential blocks, then reaches a bridge with a view of the moon and city lights. He also stops at 7-Eleven for a snack before returning to his room. The day combines straightforward parts of the trip, such as finding a taxi near the mall and boarding the train, with the station’s unfamiliar ticket process, the long queue and the incorrect booking-app location. His room’s laundry facility and the evening view provide a calmer end to a journey that began with transport and address problems.

The two taxi experiences make a useful contrast in Kevin's account: he finds a cab near the Shenzhen mall, while the queue at Guangzhou East delays his arrival. At the train station, buying from a person at the counter feels more manageable than relying on an app he is unsure about. Once aboard, the first-class carriage is comfortable, though the missing charging ports are a practical drawback. The passport check is another unexpected part of the departure process; Kevin can only speculate that the travel document and ticket are connected. At the destination, the Agoda pin's distance from the real accommodation turns an otherwise ordinary taxi ride into an extra expense.
