More about the current video:(Published on 2025-06-07)
Kevin Travel embarks on a sweaty, uphill hike from Central to Victoria Peak, one of Hong Kongβs most iconic viewpoints. The 1.5-hour trek under a hot sun leaves him drenched, but the unfolding vistas of the skyline and harbor make every drop of sweat worthwhile. Along the way, he meets fellow hikers, including a Taiwanese-American duo, and buys overpriced water from a cheerful uncle. At the summit, he discovers that the free Lionβs Club viewpoint offers nearly identical panoramas to the paid Peak Tower. A well-deserved egg tart from a nearby bakery proves to be a 10/10 revelationβwarm, custardy, and perfectly sweet-savory. The descent is just as memorable: a white-knuckle double-decker bus ride down narrow, winding roads that feels like a roller coaster. On the bus, he chats with friendly Filipina domestic helpers, learning about their work schedule and life in Hong Kong. Back in Wan Chai, he searches for stinky tofu at a local cooked food center but comes up empty. Instead, he orders a plate of sweet and sour chicken rice for just 45 HKD, which surprises him with its fresh, crunchy vegetables and pineapple tang. The unplanned meal becomes a highlight of the day. Kevinβs honest, breathless narration captures the physical challenge, the small victories, and the authentic local interactions that make travel memorable. From the sweat-drenched shirt-off moment to the last bite of chicken rice, this hike is a raw, unfiltered taste of Hong Kong beyond the postcards.
