During her travels, BeeRose discovered VIPKid, a Chinese company seeking online English teachers. The rigorous interview process, requiring a pre-set classroom and mock class, led to her acceptance. She juggled teaching early morning classes on Beijing time with her travels in China and India.
Her experiences in China were overwhelmingly positive. She recounts numerous instances of kindness from strangers, including a taxi driver who went above and beyond to help her find her accommodation and a Didi driver who took her to the Great Wall, waited for her, and drove her back. This contrasted sharply with a negative experience in India.
After a year of teaching online, BeeRose received an offer from VIPKid for a live-streaming position. This prompted her to sell her belongings, including a new car, and move to China. What she initially planned as a one-year stay has extended, highlighting the unexpected allure of life in China.
