Beijing Hot Pot: A Culinary Adventure in China

It’s finally time to try our first hot pot experience in China, and we went all-in with a traditional Beijing-style hot pot! With a recommendation from a new local friend, we navigated a fully Chinese menu using Google Translate, learned hot pot etiquette from the kind staff, and discovered unique flavors we’ve never tasted before. From Beijing-style broth heated over hot coals to dipping fresh beef, mutton, and handmade noodles in a rich sesame-peanut sauce, this was a food experience like no other. Plus, we couldn’t stop laughing at some hilarious translation mishaps on the menu (looking at you, “Explosive Dan” and “Belly Blasting Board” 😆).
