They kick things off by wandering down Dashing Lane, a vibrant street market where they soak up the local atmosphere, grabbing beef jerky and postcards, and marveling at the elaborate architecture and intricate detailing on every building. Johnny and Vicky are clearly loving the slower pace of exploring without a strict itinerary, just mooching about and soaking in the city's unique energy.
One of the biggest themes that comes through is how affordable everything is. From taxis to meals, they're constantly blown away by the value. For a meal featuring half a duck to share, sweet and sour pork, spring onion noodles, and two large beers, the total came to just £20. The food itself is a massive highlight. The sweet and sour pork is described as having a light, crispy batter that dissolves in the mouth, and the Peking duck is absolutely insane, especially when dipped in oyster sauce.
