Unfortunately Keanu wasn't feeling too great this morning but he bounced back strong and was in great spirits by mid day. If you're coming to this city for the first time we highly suggest getting yourself a tour guide at least for a few days so you can make sure you check all the top items off your list and maybe find some unknown spots you would have never found alone. Chongqing’s Day 2 is a jaw-dropping whirlwind of steep streets, incredible viewpoints, and a family that keeps going. Shawn, Amanda, and their son Keanu spent the day crossing the sprawling city with an exceptional local guide, ticking off top sights and stumbling onto hidden spots most visitors miss. Even when Keanu wakes up on the wrong side, he rallies by midday, adding an honest, heartwarming beat to the adventure. With three more days still to explore, this family is just getting warmed up—and Chongqing is clearly full of surprises.

Shawn and Amanda King start day two in Chongqing by saying the city is complicated, with sides and levels, and that they strongly suggest hiring someone to show visitors around. Their guide Tao grew up in the area, shows people around full-time and speaks good English. They pick up pastries at a mall bakery, learn how a rental power bank works and try a coconut coffee from a chain called Lucking Coffee. Shawn mentions that the traffic is not bad for a city of 34 million people. They drive to a mountain Taoist temple, which Shawn says was free when they visited. They climb many stairs past wish ribbons and carved artwork, see views over the city and visit the main hall, where Tao explains the three highest gods of Taoism. After a drink at a view cafe, they eat noodles with beans and pork sauce and pork and leek dumplings in an old town. They then visit Porcelain Port ancient town, which Tao says used to produce china and porcelain for export, and the old boat port with its alleys, shops and stairs. In the afternoon they visit a mall, where Tao shows them Xiaomi and Huawei cars and a foldable Huawei phone. The video ends as they head off to see the night view of Chongqing. Their son Keanu is unwell and sleeps through much of the day.
