China Train Travel Guide: A Comprehensive Look at Different Classes

In this China Train Guide I will show you all the different classes of train you can travel on in China on the China High Speed Train Network including First Class, Second Class, Business Class, Premier Class and a Sleeper Train. We then tour and review every class of train on the China Train Network.

Starting with 2nd Class we will look around our carriage on our high speed China train from Beijing to Xi'an exploring the Buffett car, seat configuration, bathrooms and all the amenities on board. China Second class trains have seats in a 3 and 2 configuration.

We then travel on 1st class, our First Class China Train was from Chengdu to Leshan, I show you the seats, bathroom on board, the free drinks and snacks available to passengers. First class is arranged in a 2 and 2 seat configuration.

Then it is Business Class, the best way to travel on China Trains if you can afford it. If you travel Business Class you have access to the Business Lounge in China Train Stations where you can get free drinks and snacks as well as going though different security to get straight in. On board a China Business Class Train you have a private seat that can recline into a bed, an entertainment system, free refreshments, and a meal on board.

Sleeper trains offer a great way to travel on China trains over a long distance and they are made up of soft sleepers and hard sleepers. We travelled by soft sleeper from Xi'an to Shanghai in a room with four beds.

Finally we travel Premier Class, this is a step up from First Class but below Business Class, it is usually 1st class seats but in a more private room.
